Overcoming the Effects of Mold Exposure with Natural Remedies

How do you restore your health after mold exposure?” This is an important question with long-lasting effects if not addressed quickly. My own wife started her own health battles in 2011. Her issues were as a result of a perfect storm of adrenal fatigue, mold exposure, and food poisoning. Almost 3 years of being severely ill with no help through conventional medical methods, she took a journey into holistic solutions.

Much of what we are going to outline today is as a result of her years of trying multiple methods to regain health. Please remember that we are not doctors. Anything mentioned here is not medical advice.

1. Immediate Respiratory Relief

The most common symptom of mold exposure is respiratory problems. What makes the mold so difficult to get rid of is the nature of the mold itself: thriving in a moist environment. Our respiratory system and lungs are the perfect environment! Mold spores can actually take residence in your nasal passages and respiratory system. We have found the following as quick and effective methods to relieve respiratory problems from mold.

Flush the nasal passages with a Neti pot solution. Also, we recommend only the use of “therapeutic grade” essential oils to make the solution of melaleucalemon, and immune building blend (Wild Orange Peel, Clove Bud, Cinnamon Leaf, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Leaf, and Rosemary). Make sure the water is warm and place only 1 drop of each oil to water. Mix Well and run through nasal passages. Please note that the essential oils will feel more unpleasant than regular Neti pot solutions. However, we have found short-term discomfort to be worth it. As we have found the solution to be very effective providing improvement within just a few hours.

A slower and more comfortable option is to diffuse the same oils. You can also place drops of oil in your hands and cup over nasal passages. These approaches are not as aggressive and we have not found to be as effective as the Neti pot solution.

2. Flushing the Body of Toxins

Removing toxins is one of the first steps that holistic doctors recommend in a health restoration process. Activated charcoal is a go-to favorite by most naturopaths to remove all types of toxins from the body. In particular, this supplement assists mold cleansing. When used for natural healing, select charcoal made from coconut shells or other natural sources. Other natural remedies that are anti-microbial and great for the purpose of flushing the body of mold toxins include hydrogen peroxide, melaleuca oil (tea tree oil), cinnamon oil, grapefruit seed extract, and chlorophyll.

3. Rebuild Your Bodies Immune System

The immune system becomes drastically compromised with the exposure to mold. Mold exposure symptoms are also worse for people that already have compromised immune systems, especially infants, elderly, or chronically ill. Taking steps to strengthen the body’s natural immune system is a vital and important step to regaining your strength. Also, we recommend the use of several supplements: raw garlic, oregano oil capsules (not essential oil), quality probiotic, digestive enzymes, cod liver oil, and frankincense oil capsules.

4. Regaining energy by Supporting Adrenal Function

Ashwagandha root is effective in giving energy and helping the adrenal glands to function better. However, it is easy for the adrenals to be overly active and cause high cortisol levels. This unique balance is very difficult to regulate through personal supplement use. We have found that Adaptocrine provides a unique ability to reduce stress (lower cortisol) but at the same time increase adrenal function (increase energy). Out of hundreds of adrenal supplements we have tried, this one has been the most effective in our case.

We hope that the above-mentioned tips can help you on your journey to restore your health. Please remember that we are not medical professionals and we recommend that you check with your doctor before taking any of the above-mentioned supplements, oils, etc. If you are struggling with mold exposure problems as a result of a current or ongoing mold problem, please call and speak with a mold expert.
